the weather truly is beautiful here the first night we walked to the italian restaurant Vanzetti Tay and Neil gave it a thumbs up and so did I ! the next day Friday is beautiful weather again in

t he 70's! According to Tay and Neil they have not seen the sun in a long time and people did seem to be flocking to the streets

Tay and I took the bus to Manchester to her campus and then over to the Portico Library. Her school is very modern with a media room populated with many new macs!! In between the campus and the library we stopped at the Manchester Art Gallery. An Anthony Gormley sculpture was on display here. His sculptures line a beach in Liverpool. They stand along the water's edge and some of them actually disappear at high tide only to reappear at low tide.

After all of this Tay and I ended up at Debenham's for a little

afternoon shopping. Only to come home to Neil's incredible spinach lasagna. I transcribed the recipe as he told it to me.

cheese sauce for spinach lasagna by neil

make a roux melt 2 tablespoons of butter in small saucepan now we want to add flour until it makes like a soft dough that falls into itself ball that will hold together cook for further two minutes add milk whilst wisking how much milk? you will know it will become like a milk shake do not want it to boil add a bit more milk becomes a bit like a double cream keep stirring once your happy with it being like a double cream then you add grated cheese preferably cheddar melts in not too much cheese so it does not become too much thicker go back to lasagna and put final layer of pasta on the spinach add cheese sauce to fully cover sprinkle remaining cheese on top cook at 200 celcius for roughly about half an hour after 25 minutes check it

neil's recipe for spinach lasagna

Ingredients casserole bowl deep dish for layers bottom of bowl a tin or two of tomatos chopped straight from a can pasta layers lasagna sheets as many as you want we used three sheets leave that to one side in a saucepan, big heat olive oil 2medium onions 3cloves of garlic loads of pine nuts roughly 250 tay says 50 grams brown off roast nuts onion clear put in one bag of spinach maybe one and a half toast some bread 2 slices et it cool break into toast crumbs add to wilted spinach and onion cook for 5 minutes in a pan sizzling heating through whilst stirring leave that to one side

one of the nicest things about andy is he allows everyone feel good about themselves
no matter what they are doing at that moment ....
when we drove in on a 18 degree bitter cold night to this man's shift at the East 45th street garage this man was not happy to see us come his way ..... what did andy do ?he said hey brother we are on our way to the inaugural ..........
a smile as wide as i have ever seen broke out over this man's face and he told andy that there had been a sign this week that Obama was going to be safe....... he said when that plane landed in the Hudson when it came crashing down and not one single person was hurt he knew everything was going to be OK....... he said the healines would have stolen Obama's thunder and it would have just been bad news all over but for this man it was all fine now
